This page explains how a VIA user can request deletion of a My VIA cloud account and the associated cloud data.
Request account deletion
Email VIA supportSend the request to support@getviaapp.com.
Use your VIA account emailWhere possible, send the request from the same email address used to sign in to My VIA so ownership can be verified.
Use the subject “Delete my VIA account”This helps the request get identified as a deletion request rather than ordinary app support.
Verification and deletionVIA may ask for limited information needed to verify account ownership before deleting cloud account data.
Data covered by the request
A verified deletion request is intended to remove the My VIA cloud account and data associated with that cloud account, including supported synchronised VIA library data, connected-device records and cloud files that belong to the account.
Data that may remain outside the account
- Local app data: data stored only on a device is controlled from that device. You can remove local VIA data by deleting it in the app where available, clearing VIA app storage or uninstalling VIA.
- Shared content: information deliberately shared through Shared Trips or received by another user may exist in another user's local copy until that user removes it or the relevant shared data is removed.
- Temporary operational records: limited security, abuse-prevention or technical records may be retained where reasonably necessary or required by law.
Delete specific data instead
If you do not want to delete the entire My VIA account, you can remove individual trips, bookings, files, rides or other supported content from VIA. Where cloud sync is enabled, those changes are intended to synchronise to the account.
